Washington, D.C. – While Congress considers a path to citizenship for immigrants, the Children Thrive Action Network (CTAN) #CitizenshipMeans #KidsThrive week of action continues. Citizenship for all is a children’s issue. When parents have stable immigration status, children can thrive.

Every weekday through September 15, CTAN releases a short video at noon ET to highlight what citizenship means for immigrant parents and families, followed by facts and graphics on the theme of the day. The themes of the fourth and fifth days are “Access to Benefits” (9/13), which will include a video with Rep. Pramila Jayapal; and “Economic Security” (9/14), with a video from Claudia, an organizer with the Immigrant Alliance for Justice and Equity in Mississippi

Previously-released videos from Paola Ramos, Senator Alex Padilla, and Daishi Miguel Tanaka are on CTAN’s YouTube channel.

Contact [email protected] to interview experts about the social, mental, financial, and educational impacts a path to citizenship would have on children and their families, including leaders from CLASP, The Children’s Partnership, Justice for Migrant Women, The New Teacher Project, Teach for America, Children’s Defense Fund, MomsRising, and Families Belong Together.

The Children Thrive Action Network (CTAN) is a group of national, state, and local organizations working to defend and support children in mixed-status immigrant families. Organizations committed to this mission can join the network here. Follow us on Twitter @LetKidsThrive.
